1. New Fayetteville Publix with unique feature sets opening date (fayobserver.com) — A new Publix with a rare mezzanine level is opening just outside Hope Mills on Oct. 21, becoming the Fayetteville area's second store and first two-level grocery. The Rockfish Village location will employ about 140 people and anchor a nearly fully leased shopping center, bringing 15 to 20 additional retailers and restaurants to southwest Fayetteville.
   

2. Arrest made after fatal altercation at Fayetteville Golden Corral (fayobserver.com) — Fayetteville police have charged 26-year-old Taeshaun Robinson with involuntary manslaughter after an altercation at the Skibo Road Golden Corral earlier this month led to the death of 86-year-old Marie Rozier of St. Pauls. Investigators say Rozier suffered fatal injuries while trying to escape the disturbance, and residents can share anonymous tips through Fayetteville/Cumberland County Crime Stoppers.
   

3. Cumberland County Sheriff's Office seeks 2 suspects linked to Fayetteville apartment fires (abc11.com) — Cumberland County investigators are asking Fayetteville residents to help identify two males, possibly juveniles, suspected in a string of fires at the Cumberland Towers Apartments off Cumberland Road. The most recent blaze happened Sept. 24, and anyone with information can contact the Sheriff's Office or Fayetteville/Cumberland County Crimestoppers to share tips anonymously.
   

4. New Hope Mills plan adopts blueprint for growth, development (fayobserver.com) — Cumberland County commissioners have approved a new Hope Mills Area Land Use Plan that guides growth just south of Fayetteville, including parts of southwest Fayetteville's influence area. The blueprint emphasizes preserving neighborhoods while clustering new commercial and industrial development along I‑295, I‑95 and key corridors, and creating a new town center that could shape how nearby Fayetteville residents shop, work and travel.
   

5.
