• Deputy Town Clerk Earns Prestigious Credential (jocoreport.com) — Garner's deputy town clerk Rebecca Murray has earned both the Master Municipal Clerk and North Carolina Certified Municipal Clerk credentials, a distinction held by only about one-fifth of clerks statewide. Recognized at the Sept. 15 Town Council meeting, she says the advanced training deepens her commitment to serving Garner residents alongside Town Clerk Stella Gibson.

• Concord's Barnes Claims Win at Phoenix Bass Fishing League Event at Lake Gaston (anglerschannel.com) — A recent Phoenix Bass Fishing League event at Lake Gaston saw Concord angler Jason Barnes take the overall win, but Garner was represented too. Local fisherman Steve Michaels finished ninth among boaters, while top competitors from across the region secured spots in upcoming regional and national tournaments that showcase weekend anglers on a bigger stage.
