My name is Ken Shires, and I live and work right here in Hillsborough and also serving Durham, Chapel Hill, Mebane and Wake Forest. I have made it my mission to help seniors and their families navigate one of life's more meaningful transitions — when living at home begins to feel less safe or manageable than it once did.
I know this territory personally. I walked it with my own mother, and more recently with my wife's mom. It is rarely straightforward, and it is almost always emotional. That experience is what led me to become a Certified Senior Transition Specialist.
What I offer is comprehensive and completely pro bono — that is, free of charge to you.

I tour local communities regularly and meet weekly with care experts and professionals across the Triangle. I bring current, firsthand knowledge — not a database.
