My name is Ken Shires, and I live and work right here in Hillsborough, Durham, Chapel Hill and Mebane areas. I am reaching out because I have made it my mission to help seniors and their families navigate one of life's more meaningful transitions — when living at home begins to feel less safe or manageable than it once did. I know this territory personally. I walked it with my own mother, and more recently with my wife's mom. It is rarely straightforward, and it is almost always emotional. That experience is what led me to become a Certified Senior Transition Specialist. What I offer is comprehensive and completely pro bono — that is, free of charge to you. I can help you or a loved one: •	Understand the full range of local senior living options and how they differ •	Align personal preferences, needs and budget with the right community •	Know what to ask — and what to notice when touring •	Anticipate costs and plan for rate increases over time •	Connect with trusted specialists in areas like veterans' benefits, powers-of-attorney, decluttering, and move management I tour local communities regularly and meet weekly with care experts and professionals across the Triangle. I bring current, firsthand knowledge — not a database. The families I work with tell me they wish they had started the conversation sooner.
