• 8 schools in Wake County Public School System to change calendars: District (cbs17.com) — Families with students at several Holly Springs schools will see major calendar changes starting in the 2027-28 school year, as Holly Grove Elementary and Middle, Holly Springs Elementary, and Rex Road Elementary move to a Track 4 schedule. The Wake County Board of Education also approved similar shifts for schools in Wake Forest, Morrisville, and Raleigh, standardizing four nine-week quarters with three-week breaks.

The proclamation emphasizes safety, acceptance, and support for LGBTQIA residents and youth, and Pride of Holly Springs is planning events including a June 19 “Pride in the Park” and a September 26 Pride Festival at the Holly Springs Cultural Center.
