• 8 schools in Wake County Public School System to change calendars: District (cbs17.com) — Families with students at several Holly Springs schools will see major calendar changes starting in the 2027-28 school year, as Holly Grove Elementary and Middle, Holly Springs Elementary, and Rex Road Elementary move to a Track 4 schedule. The Wake County Board of Education also approved similar shifts for schools in Wake Forest, Morrisville, and Raleigh, standardizing four nine-week quarters with three-week breaks.

• Holly Springs (NC) Officially Declares First Pride Month Proclamation (hollyspringsupdate.com) — Holly Springs has officially proclaimed June as Pride Month for the first time, following an emotional Town Council presentation by Mayor Mike Kondratick and Pride of Holly Springs chair Donna Friend. The proclamation emphasizes safety, acceptance, and support for LGBTQIA residents and youth, and Pride of Holly Springs is planning events including a June 19 “Pride in the Park” and a September 26 Pride Festival at the Holly Springs Cultural Center.
