• Mebane city council plans to give Orange County $381K to build larger gym at new school (alamancenews.com) — Mebane’s city council has agreed to move forward with a $381,547 commitment to enlarge the gym at a new Orange County elementary school so the city’s recreation department can use it after hours. In exchange, Mebane will get extensive evening and weekend access while also paying a share of ongoing operating costs, avoiding the much higher price of building its own gym facility.
