The Town of Mooresville will hold its Town Board Meeting Monday evening, but will follow new social distancing guidelines.
MOORESVILLE, NC — Despite an ever-growing list of event cancellations throughout the state, the Town of Mooresville is holding its town board meeting Monday night, but with a little less togetherness.
“Tonight’s Town Board meeting will continue as scheduled at 6 p.m. but social distancing guidelines and the Governor’s Executive Order limiting public gatherings to 100 will be followed,” the town announced.

Sunday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention called on organizers of events that draw 50 or more people to postpone or cancel them for the next eight weeks.
“Large events and mass gatherings can contribute to the spread of COVID-19 in the United States via travelers who attend these events and introduce the virus to new communities,” CDC said in the new guidelines. “Events of any size should only be continued if they can be carried out with adherence to guidelines for protecting vulnerable populations, hand hygiene, and social distancing. When feasible, organizers could modify events to be virtual.”
