• Morehead-Cain announces its 68 newest scholars (unc.edu) — A Morrisville student, Teja Aremanda, has been named one of 68 new Morehead-Cain Scholars who will start at UNC-Chapel Hill this fall. The prestigious, fully funded program supports students with mentoring, internships, and global experiences, and this year’s class includes scholars from across North Carolina, the U.S., and several other countries. 
• Wake County holds law enforcement memorial ceremony (cbs17.com) — Wake County leaders gathered Monday in Raleigh to honor 25 law enforcement officers, including Morrisville Police Officer William E. Godwin, who died in the line of duty in 1997. The ceremony at Hayes Barton Baptist Church opened National Police Week, with buildings across Raleigh lit in blue to recognize fallen officers and their sacrifices for local communities.
