• ARCO Begins Construction of ‘America's Battery Gigafactory' in NC (mycnr.com) — Morrisville is getting a massive boost in clean‑energy manufacturing as ARCO Design/Build starts constructing Forge Nano’s $300 million “Battery Gigafactory” campus in town. The expanded facility, backed by federal energy funding, is expected to create over 250 jobs and significantly grow local lithium‑ion battery production capacity by 2028.
   

• Man arrested in Durham murder of Morrisville man earlier this month, police say (cbs17.com) — A young Morrisville man, 21‑year‑old Panther Creek High School graduate Jamari Sharpe, was fatally shot in northeast Durham on August 6, and police have now arrested a suspect. Authorities say 22‑year‑old Rafael Amir McClain is charged with murder and is being held without bond ahead of a court appearance Monday.
