• Murphy Woman Charged with Animal Abandonment, Cruelty, and Violations Involving Potentially Dangerous Dogs (wdef.com) — Murphy residents should know that a local woman faces multiple charges after authorities say several dogs were found confined without food or water at two Murphy-area properties. Cherokee County deputies and Animal Services intervened, and the woman was arrested last week and released on bond while the case proceeds.
   

• Murphy Woman Found Dead in North Georgia Lake (valdostatoday.com) — Authorities are investigating after a 59-year-old Murphy woman was found dead in Lake Chatuge near a dock in Hiawassee, Georgia. State and local agencies are involved, and an autopsy is planned while investigators ask anyone with information to contact the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
