• Lady Vikings split conference matches with Madison, Owen (reflector.com) — Avery High's Lady Vikings volleyball team, playing at Viking Gym in Newland, swept Madison in straight sets before dropping a road match to Owen later in the week. Strong performances from hitters like Caroline Hollifield and servers like Lucy Turner and Caitlin Shapiro highlighted the split, as Avery moved to 7-9 overall and 2-6 in conference play.
