• Soon, Virginia producers impacted by Hurricane Helene may apply for farm recovery grants • Virginia Mercury (virginiamercury.com) — Farmers and timber producers around Abingdon can soon apply again for Virginia Farm Recovery Block Grants to help cover Hurricane Helene damage, with applications open April 27–July 1. To walk producers through eligibility and the process, state officials will host an in-person training May 1 at the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center in Abingdon, with a virtual option also available.
