ā¢ āDid not realize the road had washed away': NC woman recovering after being rescued from 30-foot hole (cbs17.com) ā Pilot Mountain EMS and Rescue helped pull a local woman from a 30-foot-deep washout on Foothill Farm Lane in Surry County after heavy rain collapsed a culvert under the road. She used her watch to call 911, climbed onto her car roof as water rose, and credits Pilot Mountain responders with getting her safely back to dry ground despite injuries and a totaled car.
