North Carolina Ranks #3 For States who Study the Hardest!

There’s no disputing that UNC and Duke are well known across the country for their athletics and their “Battle of the Blues” rivalry - but what people might not realize is just how many colleges North Carolina has. With 60 private 4-year schools and 17 public colleges and more community colleges to count, it’s fair to say North Carolina is an excellent place for students.

A recent study solidified that NC students aren’t just talented athletes, they’re great students too! Grand Canyon University released data that ranked the Tar Heel state #3 for states that study the hardest!

The study determined these rankings by compiling a list of 42 keywords related to online study tools. They then used five years of search data to find out which states were searching these keywords the most. From there, they added the search interest all together to determine which states had the highest search volume of study tools.

North Carolina’s overall score was an A+! The state scored a 94.04 out of 100, securing them the third spot in the ranking. Their downstairs neighbor, South Carolina, didn’t break the top 10 - or even the top 20! South Carolina ranked 24th in the ranking with a score of 52.20.

When it comes to studying, the days of hand-written flashcards are long gone for most students. With the amount of technology available, there’s so many resources available for students.

The most searched study tool in the United States was Brainpop, followed by Course Hero. Another popular study tool mentioned in the study was Kahn Academy.
