Raleigh DAR Presents Silver DAR Outstanding Cadet Medal

On January 8, 2024, Micajah Bullock Chapter, NSDAR proudly presented the Silver DAR Outstanding Cadet Medal to a Young Marine Private of the Capital City Marines. The Silver DAR Outstanding Cadet Medal recognizes a cadet that has distinguished him or herself through outstanding leadership, honor, service, courage, and patriotism.

The Capital City Young Marines nominated the Young Marine Private for the award, noting "He is always enthusiastic and always has a positive attitude. He is always open to learning, has shown generosity toward his family, and shows a good understanding of followership amongst his peers. He is highly motivated and will soon make a great leader. Overall, he has just been a consistently good YM and is certainly deserving of this award."

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) is a women’s service organization whose members can trace their lineage to an individual who contributed to securing American independence during the Revolutionary War. Today’s DAR is dynamic and diverse, with over 185,000 members in 3,000 chapters in the United States and abroad. DAR members annually provide millions of hours of volunteer service to their local communities across the country and world. DAR chapters participate in projects to promote historic preservation, education, and patriotism. Over one million members have joined the organization since its founding in 1890.
