• Anthony 'Tony' Allen Parker (ourlocalcommunityonline.com) — Spruce Pine is mourning the loss of 40-year-old Anthony “Tony” Allen Parker, a lifelong resident and associate dean at Mayland Community College who touched many students’ lives. Family and friends can gather to remember him at a visitation Friday, June 5, from 5–7 p.m. at Yancey Funeral Service, with online condolences welcomed through the funeral home’s website.
