• Two cases of rabies confirmed in Vass, Whispering Pines (sandhillssentinel.com) — Residents in the Vass area are being warned after a raccoon there and a bat in nearby Whispering Pines tested positive for rabies on September 29. Local officials urge you to keep pets' rabies shots current, avoid sick or aggressive wildlife, and report suspicious animal behavior to Moore County Animal Services immediately.
