• Williamston gets new fire truck thanks to $1 million grant (witn.com) — Williamston’s fire department has just received a new 100-foot aerial ladder truck, purchased with a $1 million USDA Rural Development Community Facilities Grant to improve local fire protection. Officials say the truck will expand firefighters’ tactical reach and response capabilities, bringing more modern, specialized equipment to protect Williamston residents and surrounding rural areas.
