Norfolk State linebacker Princeton Toxey has been named the first recipient of the Spartan Football Alumni Scholarship, honoring his leadership, academics, and perseverance as alumni work to support a new generation of Spartans. 
• Signs showing up at area high schools encourage safe driving (pilotonline.com) — High schools in Suffolk are receiving new bilingual signs urging teens to put phones away, buckle up, and drive only when licensed, as part of a statewide safety push. The Gweedo Memorial Foundation and Virginia DMV are distributing more than 100 free signs and offering a contest prize to schools that share photos, aiming to prevent crashes before they happen.
