Cultural Arts Building

Three sisters reunite after the youngest commits a violent act in the classic Beth Henley play.  The southern gothic Crimes of the Heart takes place in 1970’s Mississippi and explores isolation, expectations for women, family trauma, and the strength of sisterhood in turns comic, heartbreaking, and timely.  Join us for this poignant show that attests to survival, women’s resilience, and the importance of laughter in the face of tragedy.Event will take place in UNCW's Cultural Arts Building in the Mainstage Theatre. No late seating. House opens 30 minutes before showtime. There will be one 15 minute intermission.This event occurs multiple days:

In commemoration of the United States’ 250th&nbsp;anniversary, join Dr. Chris E. Fonvielle Jr., Professor Emeritus, Dept. of History at UNCW, who will focus on the first of three cruises covering the decline of the great British Empire after the French and Indian War in 1763 and the rise of a great nation by 1887.&nbsp; We will look at the deteriorating relationship between the British colonies and the mother country and the coming of the American Revolutionary War in the Lower Cape Fear. Dr. Fonville will share interesting anecdotes and facts that you may not have known.&nbsp; A splendid time is guaranteed for all.&nbsp; The three cruises will be March 22, April 26, and May 24. $45. Boarding 15 minutes prior. This is a 90 minute cruise.
