SBI investigating officer-involved shooting in Wilmington (wcti12.com) — State investigators are reviewing an officer-involved shooting that left a person seriously injured near Seventh and Red Cross streets in Wilmington Friday night. Wilmington police and New Hanover County deputies say the person fired at them before multiple officers returned fire. The injured individual remains in intensive care, and involved officers are on paid leave while the SBI continues its investigation.
