Salem Parkway nightly lane closures planned for streetlight installation on downtown bridges (winstonsalemtimes.com) — Overnight lane closures are coming to Salem Parkway in downtown Winston-Salem from September 27 through October 1 as the city installs new decorative streetlights on several key bridges. Expect one lane at a time to be closed eastbound and westbound on bridges like Church, Main, and Liberty streets, with possible delays during nighttime travel while crews work. 
2. 14 people booked on warrant charges in Forsyth County on Sept. 22 (winstonsalemtimes.com) — Fourteen people were booked on warrant-related charges at the Forsyth County Detention Center on September 22, including several probation and parole violations and multiple failure-to-appear counts. Because the jail serves Winston-Salem and surrounding communities, these bookings reflect ongoing local court and law-enforcement activity that residents may notice in dockets and neighborhood safety discussions.
3. Forsyth County sees lowest price for E15 gas at $3.54 in week ending Sept. 19 (winstonsalemtimes.com) — Drivers in Forsyth County, including Winston-Salem, saw the lowest reported E15 gas price at $3.54 per gallon during the week ending September 19, with local averages around $3.72. Only six of 166 county stations offered E15, while statewide and national fuel prices remain elevated amid volatile global oil markets and shifting refinery and supply conditions.
4. Lawsuit: NC fuel companies mixed contaminated gas into clean loads, sold at more than 130 stations (washingtontimes.com) — A federal class-action lawsuit accuses Winston-Salem-based Quality Oil and its trucking affiliate of secretly mixing contaminated fuel into clean loads and selling it at more than 130 North Carolina gas stations. Plaintiffs say fuel transfers occurred at the company's Winston-Salem property, and the case is now in federal court as regulators track a broader rise in bad-fuel complaints statewide.
5.
