• Motorcyclist killed in crash with Toyota on Peters Creek Parkway in Winston-Salem (abc45.com) — A motorcyclist was killed Thursday night after colliding with a Toyota at Peters Creek Parkway and Ethel Drive in Winston-Salem, where police say speed played a major role. The 37-year-old rider later died at a local hospital, while the car's driver suffered minor injuries. Winston-Salem's Traffic Enforcement Unit is investigating and asking anyone with information to call the non-emergency line. 
• Winston-Salem teen Shyanne hopes for a forever family (wxii12.com) — A 14-year-old Winston-Salem girl named Shyanne, who loves animals and dreams of running her own daycare, is hoping to be adopted by a supportive two-parent family. After a fun day playing games at Winston-Salem's Adventure Landing, her recruitment team says she needs trauma-informed parents committed to her therapeutic and educational services, with no other children in the home.
• Winston-Salem veterans event connects benefits and housing help (wxii12.com) — A recent Winston-Salem veterans event helped more than 230 local former service members connect directly with VA staff for benefits claims, health enrollment, and housing support. Organizers say the two-day effort delivered about $110,000 in retroactive payments and vital services like haircuts, clothing, and job referrals, and they plan to bring the program back to Winston-Salem in the future.
