• Akron Children's adds crisis unit to meet growing need (spectrumnews1.com) — Akron families will soon have expanded options for pediatric mental health care as Akron Children's Hospital adds 20 inpatient behavioral health rooms, including a new crisis stabilization unit. The unit will provide brief, intensive three‑to‑four‑day stays, easing emergency room pressure and helping children and families build crisis‑management skills before returning home. 
• Buses Power and Cool Akron's Local Music Festival (aptapassengertransport.com) — Akron's PorchROKR festival in Highland Square is leaning on METRO RTA's fully electric buses to power stages, cool down crowds, and offer charging and Wi‑Fi for thousands of attendees. The partnership also added a free Park & Ride, boosting ridership and easing parking headaches for one of the city's biggest neighborhood events.
• USW Members Ratify Master Agreement with Goodyear (usw.org) — Goodyear workers at the Akron plant are covered under a newly ratified United Steelworkers master contract that runs through April 2029. The agreement maintains health care and COLA, adds lump‑sum payments and new income security benefits, and protects key provisions like profit sharing and vacation for hundreds of local union members.
