• STEM Grant Applications Open For Schools In Belmont, Guernsey And Monroe Counties (yourradioplace.com) — Belmont County educators can now apply for STEM grants of up to about $1,000 to enhance science, technology, engineering, and math learning in local K–12 classrooms during the 2026–27 school year. Public school districts and teachers must submit online applications by Tuesday, Nov. 10, with support coming from Expand Energy and the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio.

• Fire at senior apartments in Belmont County forces more than 30 residents to be evacuated (wtrf.com) — More than 30 residents of the Carnes Center Senior Apartments in Bellaire, within Belmont County, were evacuated after a fourth-floor apartment fire sent heavy smoke and heat through the building. Sprinklers contained the blaze but caused water damage, and multiple area fire departments, EMTs, Bellaire Police, and the Belmont County Sheriff's Office assisted while the Red Cross arranged temporary housing.

• Barnesville's Devin Blair named WTRF's Golden Apple Award Winner for September (wtrf.com) — In Belmont County's Barnesville School District, music teacher Devin Blair has been honored with WTRF's September Golden Apple Award for dramatically growing the marching band, choir, and theater programs. Students and colleagues praise him for creating a safe, welcoming space where participation has more than doubled across several ensembles, giving local kids more chances to perform and belong.
