Charlie Sheen Gets Into Character for "Go Tribe" Message
The actor donned his old Ricky Vaughn outfit to send a video of support to the Cleveland Indians.
CLEVELAND, OH - Tom Hanks isn't the only actor to publicly flaunt their support of the Cleveland Indians. Charlie Sheen, who famously played a member of the Tribe in the film 'Major League', tweeted a video of support on Wednesday. The actor donned his old Ricky Vaughn uniform and used footage from the film to send his love.
Sheen was briefly the subject of much fanfare among Tribe fans who wanted him to come out and throw the first pitch of World Series Game 1. That honor ultimately went to former outfielder Kenny Lofton, but Sheen graciously said he would be honored to throw the first pitch and has been vocally supporting the Indians ever since.
While much of the rooting world is backing the Chicago Cubs, whose curse beats out Cleveland's by a half century or so, a few famous faces have thrown their weight behind the boys from Progressive Field. Tom Hanks has been stumping for the Tribe during appearances on Saturday Night Live and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Author Stepehen King, who is one of the more famous and ardent Boston Red Sox supporters, tweeted that he had heard enough about the Cubs and was going to instead support the Tribe.
