Cox Communications and Cox Automotive are working together to help feed families in Ohio through local food pantries with a $25,000 donation to the Greater Cleveland Food Bank from The James M. Cox Foundation. The grant will support local families in need during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The James M. Cox Foundation is the charitable arm of Cox Enterprises and the parent company of Cox Communications and Cox Automotive. In response to the growing strain on feeding the community, the foundation announced the $25,000 donation to support people in need where Cox lives and works.
“We are proud to support the Greater Cleveland Food Bank,” said Robert Brill, market vice president, Cox Communications. “As school and workplace closures make access to nutritious food even more challenging, these children and working families need our help now, more than ever.”
Food banks like the Greater Cleveland Food Bank continue to address the increased demand for food assistance as a result of the COVID-19 public health emergency and has distributed significantly more food this month compared to the same time last year to help stock its agencies and keep up with local needs.
“The COVID-19 pandemic reshaped the landscape as we know it for the families and individuals we support,” said Lindsey Iero, director of development, Greater Cleveland Food Bank. “The Cox Foundation grant will help us continue to meet the ongoing needs of our community to ensure our residents can get back on their feet while getting the nutrition they need.”
