• Cleveland City Council passes ordinance to accept ODOT grants to make streets safer (cleveland19.com) — Cleveland City Council has approved an ordinance to apply for and accept more than $1.6 million in ODOT grants to improve safety at 18 crash‑prone locations, including along Kinsman Road. Expect upgrades like bump‑outs, decorative crosswalks, speed beacons and other Vision Zero measures aimed at slowing traffic and reducing serious and fatal crashes in neighborhoods across the city.

• Cleveland reports drop in homicides, robberies and stolen vehicles under summer safety plan (cleveland19.com) — Cleveland officials report that this summer's safety plan helped cut homicides by nearly 23 percent and sharply reduced robberies and car thefts citywide. The city also expanded youth jobs, violence‑prevention programs, traffic‑calming projects, cleanups and senior services, while police and federal partners recovered hundreds of guns and stolen vehicles. Residents are urged to keep using 911 and 311 to report concerns.

• Cleveland Run Clubs Flourish as Participants Look for Fitness, Friends, and Even Love (clevescene.com) — Clevelanders looking for community and fitness now have a growing menu of local run clubs, from Amy Washington's early‑morning women's group in Gordon Square to large social runs looping through Downtown and Ohio City. These clubs are helping residents make friends, sometimes find romance, and replace app‑based socializing with real‑world connections while logging miles along city streets and lakefront paths.
