Nominations are open year-round on the City of Elyria website, and adults 18 or older can highlight students' kindness, leadership, and positive choices.
   

• Elyria approves new Municipal Court pay scale, raises for some employees (chroniclet.com) — Elyria City Council has approved a new pay scale for Municipal Court employees, giving some staff raises while aligning salaries with similar courts statewide. The change, retroactive to July 1, is expected to add about $112,000 to 2026 costs without requiring a budget adjustment this year.
   

• Olmsted Falls overtakes Avon in Division II state volleyball coaches' poll before SWC showdown (morningjournal.com) — Elyria volleyball faces first-place Olmsted Falls tonight in a key Southwestern Conference matchup, while Avon prepares to meet the Bulldogs later this week. Elyria Catholic also earned a top-five spot in the Division IV state coaches' poll after notable wins and close battles against ranked opponents.
