Congressman Johnson speaks out on Ma'Khia Bryant killing: Rep. Bill Johnson spoke out yesterday after a cop in Columbus shot and killed 16-year-old Ma'Khia Bryant. He spoke about the irresponsibility of media personalities and the President's press secretary leaving out key facts when reporting the story. "[She] had a knife. She lunged at another teenager with that knife. The officer shot her." Johnson called on patriotic Americans to stand up against this kind of recklessness and those who profit off other people's pain. He said if we don't, we may never escape this current cycle of outrage, protests, and violence.

Warren High School sports star commits to Marietta College: This week, Jordan Holland of the Parkersburg News and Sentinel reported that Warren senior Kurt Taylor signed with Marietta College. He's a star quarterback and pitcher, and will not only be playing collegiate football, but also baseball. Warren's football program tweeted out that the Pioneers are getting a great player and a great kid.

Governor Mike DeWine urges youngsters to get the vaccine: This week, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine spoke to the state's youth at his coronavirus briefing. He says close to 19% of those aged 16-17 have got their first shot, but he wants to see more. Dewine says what happens with our young people will determine when we can reach herd immunity.

Marietta College women's soccer team has two standouts: This week two Pioneers made the All-Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Soccer team. Senior Katie Conkle, the goalie from Toledo, and freshman Emma Diorio, the defender from Bellbrook. They both got Honorable Mention honors. Their coach, Sean Kaighin said they're extremely proud of these ladies because they're both so deserving of this award.
