Waterford bomb threat: The Washington County Sheriff's Office reports that they responded to Waterford High School for a bomb threat yesterday at 1:44 p.m. They said the bomb threat was called in, and that they believe the caller to be a male. Officers were dispatched to the scene, so was a bomb dog. No bombs were detected, the area was cleared, and law enforcement left the area at around 4 p.m.

Vincent man arrested for falling asleep with an infant in a car: Jacob Krantz of WMOA reports that deputies in Washington County responded to a gas station last week on a child endangerment call. They say they found 41-year-old Eric Owens asleep behind the wheel of a non-running car with an infant in the back seat. He was arrested for OVI, child endangerment, driving with a suspended license, and he was also apparently wanted for arrest on a theft charge. Owens was taken to jail. There was no mention of what happened to the infant in the story, but presumably, the deputies didn't leave it in the car.

Ohio House Republicans want all students to have access to private schools: Karen Kasler of the Statehouse News Bureau reports that a bill being proposed could make all Ohio students, K-12, eligible for school vouchers. This has 16 Republican co-sponsors and while not yet complete, it wants funding to follow students to whatever school their families choose.

Ohio Republicans to vote on whether to censure Congressman who voted to impeach Trump: Congressman Anthony Gonzales of Cleveland was one of the few Republicans to break rank earlier this year and vote to impeach former President Donald Trump. Jo Ingles of the Statehouse News Bureau reports that the Ohio Republican Party is going to vote later today on whether to censure him. Gonzales stands by his vote saying Trump incited a mob to violence and is responsible for the January 6th attack on the U.S. Capitol. Clearly, other Republicans in the state disagree, and we will find out later today if they'll punish him for his vote.

Congressman Bill Johnson picks Belmont girl for art competition: Marietta-based Congressman Bill Johnson has announced that Hailey Romshak will represent his office in the United States Capitol as a winner of the 2021 Congressional Art Competition. She's a sophomore from Belmont County's Union Local High School. Johnson says this is the 8th time out of 10 that a student from that school has been picked to be the winner for the entire district. She and a parent will be flown to Washington DC to present her art.
