• 211 helpline returns to Stark County. A Lake County group is behind it (the-review.com) — A Painesville-based nonprofit, Lifeline Inc., now operates the 211 helpline for Stark County as part of a statewide expansion, building on its long-running 211 service for Lake County. The agency connects callers to food, housing, mental health, and other resources, and plans outreach meetings while local leaders weigh how it complements Stark's existing online resource directory.
   

• Update on wrong-way crash on Route 2 that killed Mentor man and injured Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper (news5cleveland.com) — A wrong-way crash on Route 2 in Painesville Township killed 61-year-old Jerry Alberico of Mentor and seriously injured an Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper, who is expected to fully recover. Investigators say the trooper's timing may have prevented additional drivers from being hit, and they're awaiting the medical examiner's report to answer remaining questions about the incident.
