1. Jeff Corwin visits OKC as rehabilitated animals released at Red Ridge Nature Preserve (koco.com) — Rehabilitated animals were released at Oklahoma City's Red Ridge Nature Preserve, where TV naturalist Jeff Corwin joined local groups to spotlight wildlife rehabilitation and habitat protection. The Kirkpatrick Foundation's 133-acre preserve will be restored and eventually include a nature center, giving Oklahoma City residents new ways to experience and support local conservation close to home.
   

2. OK Humane launches $40 million campaign for new southwest OKC campus (news9.com) — A major new Oklahoma Humane Society campus is planned along Southwest 15th Street in Oklahoma City, consolidating pet adoptions, spay and neuter services, veterinary care, and grooming under one roof. With over $31 million already raised toward a $40 million goal, the project aims to replace multiple scattered locations and increase services for animals and pet owners across the Oklahoma City area.
   

3. Queenie the chicken has been found (kfor.com) — Neighbors in Oklahoma City's Paseo district can relax a bit now that Queenie, the neighborhood chicken missing for weeks from the Six-Twelve arts center yard, has been found near NW 29th and Hudson. She's back home on antibiotics after a vet visit, with a follow-up exam set for Monday and a community-funded reward split between the two people who helped rescue her.
   

4. Oklahoma fall events you don't want to miss (news9.com) — Several big fall events are headed to Oklahoma City, including the Oklahoma State Fair, Plaza District Festival, Pumpkinville at Myriad Gardens, Asian Night Market, Greek Fest OKC, and Fiestas de las Américas, all offering food, music, and family activities. The guide also highlights regional festivals in Norman, Tulsa, Poteau, and Arcadia if you're up for a short drive.
   

5. Oklahoma dog continues remarkable recovery one month after being shot, abandoned (news9.com) — A month after being found starved, shot and abandoned in the Oklahoma City metro, Mango the French bulldog is steadily recovering under the care of local nonprofit Angel Fund OKC. The group shared new photos, thanked Oklahoma City supporters for donations and prayers, and is still seeking information about Mango's past and help funding her ongoing treatment.
