Major draws like the American Quarter Horse Youth World Championship and a large Jehovah's Witnesses convention, plus shows and expos, attracted mostly out-of-town guests, pumping money into hotels, restaurants, and nearby businesses.

Oklahoma experts push new housing policies to address rising costs and low homeownership (kjrh.com) — State housing experts and lawmakers met at the Capitol in Oklahoma City to explore new policies for tackling rising housing costs and low homeownership, with special attention on how many units Oklahoma City permits each year. They discussed redefining affordability, easing permitting, and encouraging smaller lots and more diverse housing types, stressing that incremental policy changes are needed to keep homes attainable and attract workers to Oklahoma communities.

OKC police issue Silver Alert for missing 67-year-old man last seen more than 2 weeks ago (koco.com) — Police have issued a Silver Alert for 67-year-old Robert Obourn, last seen August 31 at his home near SW 129th Street and May Avenue in southwest Oklahoma City. He has autism, kidney failure, and high blood pressure requiring daily medication, so anyone who spots him is urged to call 911 immediately to help bring him home safely.
   

4. Lake Hefner set for replenishment from western OK lake (freepressokc.com) — Starting Thursday, Oklahoma City will begin replenishing Lake Hefner by releasing water from Canton Lake, aiming to raise Hefner's level by over four feet after a brutally dry summer. The two-week transfer will help secure drinking water for Oklahoma City residents while balancing impacts on recreation and wildlife at drought-stricken Canton Lake.
   

5. Labor Dept recovers $91,000 in back wages for workers at OKC law firm (okcfox.com) — An Oklahoma City law firm has agreed to pay more than $91,000 in back wages and damages after a federal investigation found it failed to pay overtime to 18 employees. The U.S. Department of Labor says the firm paid straight time for all hours worked, and urges other Oklahoma City employers to review wage rules to avoid similar violations.
