1. These OKC homes predate Oklahoma statehood. Now they're for sale. (kansascity.com) — Several historic homes built before Oklahoma became a state are currently for sale in neighborhoods across Oklahoma City, from Uptown to Military Park. Each listing highlights features like basements, storm shelters, and walkable access to local parks, bars, and restaurants, giving residents a glimpse at rare, early-1900s properties still standing in the city.
   

2. OKC police chief, Chickasaw Nation among award winners at Latino awards (kansascity.com) — Oklahoma City residents and leaders were in the spotlight as the Latino Community Development Agency hosted its 35th annual "Somos Oklahoma" awards luncheon at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. Honorees included OKC Police Chief Ron Bacy, the Chickasaw Nation, local journalist and business leaders, and LCDA staff and board members recognized for strengthening Hispanic families and expanding opportunities across the community.
   

3. October shows bring themes of healing, Western memory and imagined worlds to the Paseo (okcfox.com) — Oklahoma City art lovers can look forward to four new exhibits opening Oct. 2 at the Paseo Arts and Creativity Center, bringing themes of healing, Western memory and imagined worlds. Local connections run deep, from Atticxys Metals' illuminated sculptures—also seen at the Downtown OKC Library—to shows featuring Southwest-inspired paintings and mystical figures, all within the historic Paseo arts district.
   

4. OKC family turns to public after arson case goes inactive (okcfox.com) — An Oklahoma City family whose home was destroyed in a May 11 arson fire has learned the investigation is now inactive after police and fire investigators ran out of leads. They're turning to the public, raising money for a reward of up to $10,000 in hopes that new tips will revive the case and finally identify whoever set the blaze.
   

5. Village Police issue over 100 speeding tickets in school zones (kfor.com) — Drivers around Oklahoma City's Village neighborhood are facing serious enforcement after police issued 152 speeding tickets in school zones less than a month into the school year. Residents near Ridgeview Elementary say fast traffic and rolling stop signs are common, and officers hope the citations—especially for drivers going over 40 in 20 mph zones—will finally slow cars where children walk.
