• Accused serial killer Jesse Calhoun to appear in court Monday in Ashley Real case (kgw.com) — An accused serial killer linked by prosecutors to multiple women's deaths in the Portland area is due in Multnomah County Circuit Court on a second-degree murder charge in the death of 22-year-old Ashley Real. Families of the victims, whose bodies were found in wooded areas in or near Portland, have waited years as grand juries heard extensive testimony leading to several indictments.
   

• Counterprotesters clash at The Sports Bra amid ongoing tensions (koin.com) — Counterprotesters and right-wing activists faced off outside The Sports Bra in Northeast Portland after the bar asked patrons with anti-trans messages to cover them or leave. Portland police monitored the demonstrations, which involved tense confrontations but ended without arrests or injuries, while the bar reiterated its commitment to being a safe, inclusive space for trans women and girls.
   

• Portland coffee shop raising funds for Gaza cafe (oregonlive.com) — Southeast Portland's nonprofit Heretic Coffee is raising $100,000 to help build a free-meals coffee shop in Gaza, partnering with humanitarian nonprofit Humanite and already surpassing $38,000 in donations. The planned "Dept. of Peace" café, assembled by a local Palestinian team amid widespread war damage, aims to serve Palestinians daily while giving Portland residents a direct way to support recovery efforts.
