5 Teenagers Killed In PA House Fire; 2 Others Injured: Report

Two adults were seriously injured trying to rescue the children from the burning home, reports said.

POTTER COUNTY, PA — Five teenagers were killed Monday when an early-morning fire ripped through a home in northern Pennsylvania, according to reports.

The fire started in a home on Slingerland Road in Genesee Township, The Associated Press reported. When police arrived, the house was fully engulfed in flames and five teenagers were trapped inside.

Potter County Coroner Kevin Dusenbury identified three of the victims as brothers Raymond Erway, 17, Tristan Erway, 16, and Evan Erway, 14, according to the Olean Times Herald. The three boys attended Northern Potter High School in Ulysses.

Two teenage girls were also killed in the fire, the Times Herald reported — Mikalah Roulo, a sophomore at Wellsville High School, and Krysta Kane, a sophomore at Scio Central School.

An adult man and woman were able to escape, The AP reported; however, both were seriously injured trying to rescue the children and were flown to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, New York, for treatment.

The adult victims were later identified as Michelle and Charles Erway, parents of the three boys, the Times Herald reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
