1. A man was killed in a shootout with police on Wednesday night after shooting a family member and three officers, said officials. Police responded to the scene after an argument occurred between a 12-year-old boy's uncle and father. 2. Authorities confiscated a .22 caliber pistol at Pittsburgh International Airport on Thursday morning, making 34 weapons seized so far this year, according to the Transportation Security Administration. The airport's record for number of guns seized is 35, set back in 2019. (Read more on Patch.)

In a federal lawsuit, a Pennsylvania mother claimed her 15-year-old transgender daughter experienced "relentless" harassment, discrimination and bullying at her high school, leading the girl to take her own life. According to the case, Adreya Harden was found unresponsive in her home after intentionally overdosing on prescription medication in 2021. (Read more on Patch.)
5. Police said they had to fire shots at several dogs who were attacking a man in West Philadelphia on Wednesday afternoon, reportedly killing one. First responders took the man to the hospital in critical condition, after officers were responding to a shots fired call and found the man being attacked.
