2. A former criminal attorney in Pennsylvania will spend up to 7 years in prison on charges he sexually assaulted a woman after entering her home. The 37-year-old was convicted in March of indecent assault, strangulation, simple assault, unlawful restraint, false imprisonment, and criminal trespass. (Read more on Patch.)

Health officials are warning of a rare flesh-eating bacterium known as Vibrio vulnificus, found naturally in warm coastal waters, that has killed at least eight people along the East Coast this summer. 4. A 24-year-old woman faces murder charges, as police say she caused fatal injuries to her 82-year-old grandmother during a physical argument.
