Aqua PA, Safety Improvement Work Affecting Lower Merion Road Next Week

Two projects will be hindering traffic in the township next week. Find out when and where with Patch.

Two different projects in Lower Merion Township will be affecting roads in the area next week, PennDOT said. The roads affected are City Avenue and Belmont Avenue, PennDOT said.

City Avenue will be affected all week by work related to the $2.9 million safety improvement project.

Both north and southbound lanes of City Avenue will have right lane restrictions to accommodate the work.

Restrictions will be in effect between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday, April 10 to Friday April 14 between Lapsley Lane and 47th Street.

Additionally, PennDOT said Aqua PA will be enacting road closures on Belmont Avenue in Lower Merion starting next week for water main installation.

The road will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, April 10 through Friday, April 28 between Rock Hil Road and City Avenue.

A detour will be place that will reroute drivers over Rock Hill Road, Conshohocken State Road, and City Avenue, PennDOT said.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through these areas, PennDOT said.

The work schedules are dependent on the weather.
