City And Lancaster Avenues Restricted Next Week

Paving will affect one road while safety improvement work will affect the other.

LOWER MERION, PA – Two projects will affect two Lower Merion Township roads next week, both of which are set to begin Monday, May 1, according to PennDOT.

City Avenue will have right lane closures on both the north and southbound lanes between Bala Avenue and 63rd Street.

The closures will be in effect between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. from Monday, May 1 to Friday, May 5.

Crews will be working on traffic signal upgrades and curb ramp installations related to a $2.9 million safety improvement project.

Additionally, Lancaster Avenue will be affected by paving work from Monday, May 1 to Friday, May 5, PennDOT said.

The road will have lane restrictions between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. daily from Church Road to City Avenue.

Motorists should allow extra travel time when driving through these areas or consider alternate routes.

Both projects are weather dependent.
