Forecasted Rain Closes Fords In Lower Merion

Rain closed the township's fords last week as well.

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA – The two fords in Lower Merion Township are closed, according to officials.

Township officials said the heavy rain in Monday's forecast prompted the closures.

The township said both fords will be closed until further notice.

According to the National Weather Service, nearly half of all flash flood deaths are vehicle related and the national 30-year average for flood deaths is 127.

The township closed its fords last week due to heavy rain, as well.
