Gas Leak Evacuates Lower Merion Twp. Building Tuesday: Report
Crews stuck a gas main, causing traffic disruptions and forced the township administrative building to be evacuated Tuesday night.
ARDMORE, PA – A gas main leak caused traffic disruptions and forced the Lower Merion Township Administrative building to be evacuated Tuesday night after crews struck the gas main while working in the area.
According to Main Line Media News, when the main was struck at about 7:30 p.m., the gas scent filled the neighborhood.
Officials determined evacuating the administrative building was the best course of action and PECOm crews sealed the leak by 9:20 p.m.

The outlet reports the road was closed until about 11:15 p.m. as crews worked on further repairs of the gas main.
