I-76 Overnight Lane Closures Begin Sunday Night

Overnight lane closures are scheduled on eastbound and westbound Interstate 76 throughout the week.

Closures will be between Interstate 476 and U.S. 1 City Avenue in West Conshohocken Borough and Lower Merion Township, PennDOT said.

Crews will be working on milling, overlay ,and concrete patching operations as part of a project to repair and resurface 12.5 miles of the expressway, according to PennDOT.

The work schedule is:

• Sunday, Aug. 6, through Thursday, Aug. 10, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, lane restrictions are scheduled on eastbound and westbound I-76 between I-476 and City Avenue;
• Friday, Aug. 11, from 9 p.m. to 9 a.m. the following morning, lane restrictions are scheduled on eastbound I-76 between I-476 and City Avenue; and
• Saturday, Aug. 12, from 9 p.m. to 9 a.m. the following morning, lane restrictions are scheduled on eastbound and westbound I-76 between I-476 and City Avenue.

All scheduled activities are weather dependent, PennDOT said.

Motorists are advised to use an alternate route or allow extra time when traveling on I-76 in the work area because backups and delays will occur.
