Japanese Festival Hitting Ardmore Saturday

O-Bon is a traditional Japanese festival that will transform part of Ardmore into a slice of Japan.

ARDMORE, PA – A part of Ardmore will turn into a slice of Japan Saturday at the traditional O-Bon Japanese Festival.

The Japanese Association of Greater Philadelphia and the Maido restaurant are hosting the festival Saturday, Aug. 12 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at 12 E. Lancaster Ave. in the municipal parking lot next to Tired Hands Fermentaria.

The even is free to attend.

Activities include traditional Japanese festival food, folk dancing, carnival-style games for kids and adults, Japanese writing lessons, and more.

You can volunteer at the festival, too. Anyone age 15 and up interested in volunteering (you get free lunch and/or dinner) should contact JAGP at info@jagphilly.org or call (215) 840-4645.
