Lower Merion Hiring Crossing Guards For 2017

There are openings for a part-time crossing guard and a substitute crossing guard.

Lower Merion Township is looking for candidate to fill two crossing guard positions and is now taking applications for both openings.

The township is hiring part-time crossing guards and substitute crossing guards.

According to the township, the part-time job pays $19.40 an hour and has a five-day schedule, with guards working four to five hours a day during the school year.

The sub job pays $15 an hour and will work as needed to fill in for other crossing guards who work during the previously mentioned times.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or the equivalent; a valid driver's license and reliable transportation; be able to perform the job in harsh weather conditions; be able to stand and walk for up to five hours a day; have child abuse clearances; and be able to instruct and guide children in safe road crossing.
