Lower Merion K9 Unit Earns Explosive Detection Certificate
Congratulations to Officer Jeffrey Seamans and K9 Rookie on their accomplishment at the US Police Canine Association's Nationals event.

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA – A K9 unit of the Lower Merion Police Department recently stepped up their ability to help protect the community by earning a National Explosives Detection Certification.
The police department said Officer Jeffrey Seamans and K9 Rookie earned the certificate on Monday, May 21 at the United States Police Canine Association’s Nationals certification in Galloway, New Jersey.
"The United States Police Canine Association, Inc.' tests are nationally recognized throughout all levels of the justice system," the police department said in the announcement. "This is a huge accomplishment and one that our K9 teams and our Department is very proud of."

Officer Stephen Patton and K9 Fearghas also participated in the certification program.
Seamans, Rookie, Patton, and Fearghas all participated in the United States Police Canine Association, Inc.'s regional explosive scent certification event on April 18.

Rookie and Seamans' score – 294.83 out of 300 total points – earned them the top spot in the event for the second year in a row. Patton and Fearghas scored 261.50 out of 300, coming in sixth place in their first explosive certification event.
