Lower Merion Man Damaged 'Protected' Computers: US Attorney
The Lower Merion man allegedly changed passwords and radio transmission frequencies on computers that read water meters, officials said.

LOWER MERION, PA -- A Lower Merion man has been charged after allegedly damaging "protected" computers that remotely read water meters, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
Adam Flanagan, of the Bala Cynwyd section of the township, accessed the computers, which had been installed by his previous employer, and changed passwords and radio transmission frequencies, officials said.
The changes rendered the computers completely inoperable, according to the U.S. Attorney.

Flanagan faces a maximum sentence of 90 years in prison plus a $3 million fine.
The case was investigated by Federal Bureau of Investigation, and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Michael L. Levy.
