Montgomery, City Avenues Affected By Work Next Week

Montgomery Avenue will see nightly lane closures while City Avenue will see daily lane closures, PennDOT said.

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA – Montgomery and City avenues in Lower Merion Township will see roadwork next week, according to PennDOT.

PennDOT said Montgomery Avenue will be closed nightly from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next morning beginning Sunday, Sept. 24. The daily closures will end at 5 a.m., Friday, Sept. 29.

Closures will be in effect between Old Gulph and Spring Mill roads.

During construction, Montgomery Avenue motorists will be detoured over Old Gulph and Spring Mill roads.

Local access will be maintained up to the construction zone.

Crews will be working on beam replacement on the Interstate 476 north overpass, PennDOT said.

Additionally, City Avenue will see right lane closures daily on Monday, Sept, 25 and Tuesday, Sept. 26, PennDOT said.

The closures will be in place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. between Conshohocken State Road and Bryn Mawr Avenue, PennDOT said.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the construction areas because slowdowns will occur. The work schedules are dependent on the weather.
