Former 76er Says He was Urinating, Not Exposing Himself On Trail
Overton is facing three counts of indecent exposure and a disorderly conduct charge stemming from the April 30 incident in Lower Merion.
LOWER MERION, PA – Former Philadelphia 76er, St. Joseph's coach, and La Salle grad Doug Overton was recently charged with indecent exposure and disorderly conduct for allegedly exposing himself on a trail in Lower Merion. Now he is disputing that, saying he was simply answering nature's call and had to urinate while on the trail.
"During the walk I felt the need to relieve myself," Overton said in a prepared statement. "With the nearest bathroom nearly a mile away, I stepped off the trail and into a wooded area to take care of business in what I thought was a discreet manner."
In his statement, Overton said he was apparently not as discreet as he thought.
